The Exciting World of WorldWifi

WorldWifi operates in 80 cities and employs 100 people. They have two existing Wi-Fi projects, Adrenta and Radius, focused on Wi-Fi advertising in public spaces. The Adrenta network has over 14,000 open networks and over 100 other franchises as partners. WorldWifi is a decentralized company powered by Blockchain.

All transactions are paid using WeToken, one Wetoken pays for ten ad impressions in WorldWifi. Tokens may be sold by using CryptoExchange converted into Bitcoins or other forms of currency. WorldWifi spends its company budget in the following ways; 0.5% on administrative costs, 1.3% on payroll, 24.4% on R & D, 2.4% on software and hardware, 25.5% on Agent Network costs, 6.4% on building business to business networks and 39.5% on marketing and advertising costs. The Wireless Broadband Alliance declared June 20th, 2017 as ‘World Wi-Fi Day.’ The mission is to make affordable internet access available to parts of the world that have none. Internet access is an essential part of the global economy. In 2016, mobile technology and service added $3.3 trillion to the global economy. By 2020, mobile technology and service is expected to add $4.2 trillion to the global economy. Over 100 industry and government agencies support ‘World Wi-Fi Day.’

Their initiatives include affordable or free public Wi-Fi and to fund or support providing Wi-Fi services to underserved and under connected communities around the world. Wi-Fi handles over half of the internet’s traffic. The ‘City Wi-Fi Roaming Project’ is a global initiative that wants to increase affordable wireless connections around the world. This initiative lets people who live in or are visiting major cities to automatically and safely roam between public Wi-Fi networks in 17 major cities from June to August.

The number of public Wi-Fi hotspots around the world is expected to reach 432.5 million by the year 2020. Over three billion Wi-Fi enabled devices are expected to ship out in 2018. 1.75 billion people in the world’s eight richest countries do not have internet access. Delhi and San Paolo have the most citizens with no internet access (5.331 million and 4.349 million). There are even 1.6 million people living in New York City with no internet access. Nearly 25% of Americans who live in big city, urban areas have no internet access. One possible reason for this is the high cost of quality internet access. Many working Americans still do not earn enough income to afford internet access.

London, England is the most connected city, 93% of London’s residents are connected to the internet. 13% of Germany’s population does not have access to the internet. 26.85% of Russia’s population does not have access to the internet. 11.8 million Russians only access the internet from a mobile device. Russians can access the internet on public transportation, such as the trains on the Moscow Metro. Fourteen parks in Moscow have free Wi-Fi. 25% of Russia’s secondary schools have Wi-Fi. Moscow has considered providing colleges and universities with free Wi-Fi.
